Maddison Safety began in 1991, with a simple idea — provide reliable safety equipment backed by genuine service.
Founder Keith Maddison started the business in a small shared premises at Warners Bay, working alongside just one employee. From those humble beginnings, the focus was always clear: build strong relationships with customers and provide practical solutions that help keep people safe at work.
As demand grew, the business moved to Gateshead, where a small manufacturing section was established. This allowed Maddison Safety to begin producing specialised products for local mining and industrial customers, something that still remains an important part of the business today through our Mad Manufacturing range.
Continued growth eventually led to the move to our current headquarters in Cardiff in 2006. Since then, the facility has expanded significantly, including major extensions that have doubled the size of the building and allowed for improved warehousing, receiving and dispatch operations to support our quality standards and growing customer base.
Today, Maddison Safety proudly services businesses across the Hunter Valley, North West and Central West NSW, while also supplying customers across Australia and internationally.
More than 30 years later, we remain 100% Australian owned and operated, with a team of experienced staff who are passionate about what they do. Many of our team members have been with the business for years, helping maintain the friendly, knowledgeable service our customers rely on.
While our capabilities have grown — from PPE supply and workwear to fire safety services, manufacturing, inventory management and digital compliance systems — our philosophy has stayed the same.
Service always matters.
We believe in building long-term relationships, understanding how our customers operate, and continually looking for ways to improve safety, efficiency and value across their operations.
From a small local business in Lake Macquarie to a trusted partner for mining, construction and industry across Australia, Maddison Safety continues to grow — while staying true to the values it was built on.
